Movie Review – Horse Girl (Netflix)
Movie Blurb:
Sarah, a socially isolated woman with a fondness for arts and crafts, horses, and supernatural crime shows finds her increasingly lucid dreams trickling into her waking life.
My Review:
Characters
A good, intriguing main character that seems super out of place in her own life. Great acting.
Plot
Pretty damn entertaining. Aliens-abducted-me theme with good mysterious elements.
Flow
Pretty flawless. There are small parts of the film that seem to go into a weird, kooky direction, but ultimately it gets to where it’s supposed to go.
Overall Impression
I love Alison Brie as an actress. There, I said it. Ever since GLOW, I’ll pretty much watch anything with her in it. I’m not huge on alien abduction movies, but this turned out pretty good!
Brie plays a woman who seems to live an ordinary, boring life with few friends until she starts having dreams and visions of being abducted by aliens and tries to figure it all out.
Brie was great in this, and for the most part, so were the other characters. The plot was pretty obvious, but entertaining as we go along for the ride trying to figure out if Brie is just crazy or really on to something. Flow was good, but got a little misguided for me here and there.
Overall, a pretty good experience!
Final Score
7/10

The hubster and I watched this one together. When it was over, we looked at each other like, “That was WEIRD. I think I like it, but I don’t know yet.” Horse Girl certainly is different. We decided we did like it, but you have to be wide awake to catch everything that’s going on!
Haha, I totally agree. Definitely a strange movie. Still really enjoyable, but I feel like I missed a thing or two here and there.
This was a weird movie but I LOVE Brie in it!
Totally agree. Weird but still a lot of fun!
