Weekly Progress Update!

Happy Sunday World!

How the heck are ya? Good, I hope!

This week was … strange. I came back from my writer’s retreat in Hermann to a deserted Kansas City. Tuesday I started working from home and I’m still adjusting to that change while working a LOT of overtime, so lots of things simply didn’t get done this week, but I’m playing catch up, so it’s understandable.

Anyways, let’s get into what I did get accomplished this week!

Books

This week went pretty well for reading, all things considered. I read Animorphs #26, The Attack by KA Applegate and The Upheaval by Erica Stevens.

I absolutely loved my Animorphs read. It was full of action, drama, and all the scifi I could possibly crave.

The Upheaval I did have some issues with, but I am grateful that this was my first buddy read and I got to know my buddy Iseult Murphy better through the experience.

TV/Movies

Things were a little bit slow this week with watching, but I did manage to finish watching The Invention of Lying on Netflix.

While it wasn’t the perfect movie, it was different, unique, and had a decent amount of laughs. Definitely a nice light movie if you’re in the mood for something like that.

My Writing

I didn’t get to share my writing progress last week because I wanted to wait until my writer’s retreat in Hermann was over, but I finished my rough draft!

I’m super happy to be done with the rough draft. The rest of the week I simply tried to narrow down what worked and what didn’t. I do have a list, but it’s not as long as I thought.

A lot of things will change slightly and there are tons of edits to be done, but the overall book I’m very happy with. Tomorrow I’ll start the editing process. I’m a little disappointed that I haven’t been able to start already, but work has simply demanded a lot more of my time than usual as I adjust to working remotely.

Wish me luck!

That’s a Wrap!

All right, so that was it for my week. How did yours go? Did you do well on your writing and reading projects? Anything interesting you’d like to share?

Do you have any great recommendations in TV, movies, or books? Feel free to share in the comments!

Thanks for stopping by everyone, and Happy Sunday!

    • Right, I did mention this to my supe, and they said the exact same thing. Job security, while nice, makes me want to pull my hair out when things are this crazy.

I think I’ll establish days I’m allowed to do OT and others I’m not. I need more time to myself.

  1. Good luck with the editing process. I finished Little Men by Louisa May Alcott but that’s all this week. I signed up for the free trial of Disney+ yesterday and proceeded to add 50 movies/series to my watchlist. So far the only thing I’ve managed to watch was The Sound of Music.

    • Thanks, I’m super happy that that part of my journey is over. Now to second guess myself with edits lol.

It was pretty good! I miss people, but other than that I’m okay.
