Weekly Progress Update!
Howdy Dowdy!
How’s everyone’s week been? I hope everyone’s staying nice and safe inside their homes when possible and practicing some responsible social distancing.
I gotta say, being this isolated really is beginning to suck. I spend nearly all of my time inside, and the furthest from home I went this week was to the corner store. The corner store! I am just seriously hoping this stops sooner than later, but I’m not holding my breath.
I’m still struggling to find my groove with work. I still get really upset sometimes, but I think part of the issue is that I’m working remote and there are certain things I just can’t do as well from home.
I am still exercising in the mornings when I wake up though, so at least I’m not turning into a blob? I don’t know.
Anywho, let’s get into all things Jaunts & Haunts this week!
Books
My bookish self did really well this week! I read a short story and three books.
The short story with the extremely long title was a ton of fun, cuteness, and magic, and I enjoyed every minute of it!
Animorphs was overall really good despite some minor qualms I had. Lots of great action and scifi awesomeness!
Last on the list this week was books three and four in the Heaven Sent series. While overall I did struggle with it here and there, the overall experience was a good one.
Feel free to check out my reviews for the week below!
TV/Movies
This week I haven’t had much time to watch anything, but I did get to review Feel Good season one on Netflix.
I’ve been trying to switch things up with what I watch lately, and this was a pleasant change of pace. Though it had some harder-hitting issues, overall this was a lighter watch for me, and I really loved it.
My Writing
This week was the first of me being in edit mode for my Reaper sequel, and things are going really well. I was able to edit through the first three chapters and am in the middle of chapter four right now.
Like I said last week, this is going pretty swimmingly mainly because the first act is technically already in first draft shape and is more polished than the rest of the book.
There are still some very minor things I’m unsure of, but I will be leaving those to the alpha and beta readers.
All that being said, looking at those first few chapters I can see how inspired I was when I started this project, and that’s really encouraging me to move forward.
While you wait on me to get those edits in, why not check out my debut novella Reaper?
If you’re a Halloween junkie or horrorhead like me, you’ll love the chills and thrills.
Stay tuned for more updates!
That’s a Wrap!
All right, so that was it for my week. How did yours go? Did you do well on your writing and reading projects? Anything interesting you’d like to share?
Do you have any great recommendations in TV, movies, or books? Feel free to share in the comments!
Thanks for stopping by everyone, and Happy Sunday!

Nice to read your weekly progress as always. I’m glad Reaper’s sequel is coming along well. This week I watched Dora the Explorer (movie). I wish I hadn’t. Chronicle – well made and engaging, the victim monster trope ruined it for me. Crawl – hilarious! Obviously made by people who had never ever seen a real animal let alone an alligator. Have only finished two books this week, and I’ve written about 10k of my horror comedy novella, but will have to start all over again because I was pantsing it and I’m a plotter!
Thanks friend! Yeah, in excited about making some serious progress on Reaper, and today I plan on sitting down and enjoying the read.
Haha, I wasnt going to watch Dora, but I’m glad you liked Chronicle. That ones really good. Haha, Crawl seemed kinda meh so I never gave it a chance. Glad I didnt lol.
Hey, two books is pretty damn good!
Best of luck with your wip!
Yay for not indulging the blob.:-) Good luck with your continued edits!
Haha, thank you. I have my routine down. Jillian Michaels for the win!
Appreciate the well wishes, I just got through chapter four, but will go through one more time as there are small things I need to really think over.
I’ve been watching a lot on Disney+ I think I’ve already watched like 5+ movies sine I signed up.
Yes! All about the Disney plus!
