Movie Review – The Room (Shudder)
(movie cover)
Movie Blurb:
Matt and Kate buy an isolated house. While moving, they discover a strange room that grants them an unlimited number of material wishes. But, since Kate has had two miscarriages, what they miss the most is a child.
My Review:
Characters
Intriguing characters that react in fun and interesting ways to what is happening in this film.
Plot
Seemed very original to me. The movie took the premise and went in an interesting direction I couldn’t predict.
Flow
Scene to scene a solid flow. No annoying or distracting subplots in sight.
Overall Impression
I haven’t been watching enough Shudder movies lately. If I’m gonna pay for the subscription, I might as well use it, right? When I read the blurb for this movie, I was intrigued, so I gave it a go.
Overall, I was really impressed! A husband and wife move into a remote house and discover a strange room. When the husband is getting drunk in the room, he discovers that the room will give him anything he wants. But is there a price to pay for what they want?
The characters felt mostly original to me. We got a healthy dose of backstory along the way, but not enough to distract us from what was going on. The concept of the room was intriguing and I wanted to know more. That was the core driver for me.
The plot went in a direction I didn’t think it would go, and I enjoyed being surprised by a film that I couldn’t predict the twists to.
Ultimately, The Room is a solid watch, and I definitely recommend it if you’re looking for something that isn’t too terrifying but still captivating and entertaining.
Final Score
7.5/10

It sounds pretty good. I watched “In the Tall Grass” yesterday. Was it you who recommended it? Anyway, I enjoyed it. It’s a little gross, a little scary, and thought provoking. But you have to pay attention to follow what’s going on!
Yes, I loved In the Tall Grass! I think I recommended it a few months ago.
Yeah, definitely a little grossness, creepy and thrilling too. But sooo good!
This is something I’d definitely watch, but I don’t have Shudder. I watched In the Tall Grass a few months ago and it was just okay for me. I could definitely see the different styles of King and son.
Oh darn! It may be available somewhere else like google play, but I cant be sure.
I’d like to read in the tall Grass and see the difference from movie to book. Sorry it didnt quite catch your fancy friend.
