Jaunts & Haunts: Favorite Books of 2019

Hello Blogiverse!

Man, what a year this has been. I don’t know about you, but this is definitely the busiest I’ve ever been. Work, writing, reading, blogging, a social life, trying to date, oi vey! Talk about a constant battle!

Despite how busy I’ve been, I wanted to go over my favorite books before 2020 starts.

I’m going to keep this simple. The only books I’m listing are ones that I’ve rated 5 stars (sorry 4.5’ers) and that I’ve reviewed here on WordPress (so I don’t pull my hair out). I’ll list them in chronological order as well. Be forewarned, there will be multiple Animorph ones on here!

Alright, here we go!

      • Yeah, I hear you there! I decided to donate some of the books on my shelves that I haven’t read yet. Some just aren’t ever going to be read, and I’ve had them for years. My tastes have changed, ya know?

I’m gonna donate them to the local library.

      • I don’t think I could ever get rid of a book that I haven’t read because I am still interested in reading them all. It would probably be easier if my tastes actually changed and I could get rid of some but I read a little bit of everything and the synopsis just has to sound the littlest bit intriguing to me and I’m interested.

      • I hear ya. Well it’s more of an effort to get rid of books I know I’ll never read. There are some in boxes that have been there for like 3-4 years. Its seriously time to go for those ones.

  1. You have TWO Teri Polen books in your faves, cool!

I read a whole lot of great books this year, but my four favorites are (all of them brutal, all of them literary horror):
Black Heart Boys’ Choir by Curtis Lawson
    Ration by Cody Luff
    Blood Sugar by Daniel Kraus
The Bedwetter by Lee Allen Howard

I’m looking forward to more great books in 2020!

    • Teehee, guilty! She’s amazing. I also preordered her book for next year.

Niiicccee! I think I may have looked at one of those, but I’m gonna look again just in case. Just the titles alone are interesting.

      Me too!
