Jaunts & Haunts: Favorite Books of 2019
Man, what a year this has been. I don’t know about you, but this is definitely the busiest I’ve ever been. Work, writing, reading, blogging, a social life, trying to date, oi vey! Talk about a constant battle!
Despite how busy I’ve been, I wanted to go over my favorite books before 2020 starts.
I’m going to keep this simple. The only books I’m listing are ones that I’ve rated 5 stars (sorry 4.5’ers) and that I’ve reviewed here on WordPress (so I don’t pull my hair out). I’ll list them in chronological order as well. Be forewarned, there will be multiple Animorph ones on here!
Alright, here we go!
Animorphs #4, The Message (YA/Scifi)
Animorphs #5, The Predator (YA/Scifi)
Nemesis #1, Dreadnought (YA/Superhero)
Nemesis #2, Sovereign (YA/Superhero)
The Great Devil War #1, The Devil’s Apprentice (YA/Fantasy)
The Gemini Connection (YA/Scifi)
Animorphs #11, The Forgotten (YA/Scifi)
No Good Men (Mystery/LGBT)
Cassidy Blake #1, City of Ghosts (YA/Paranormal)
Animorphs #12.5, The Andalite Chronicles (YA/Scifi)
Cassidy Blake #2, Tunnel Of Bones (YA/Paranormal)
Animorphs #13, The Change (YA/Scifi)
Animorphs #15, The Escape (YA/Scifi)
Animorphs #16, The Warning (YA/Scifi)
That’s a Wrap!
All righty book worms, that wraps up my five-star rated books for the year. I always love talking about books, and I hope you enjoyed this post!

I’ve read 2 books on your list and I really enjoyed both of them. The Gemini Connection and The Devil’s Apprentice are the two I’ve read.
Very nice, you have great taste in books! I’m super excited about next year. Lately I’ve been finding even more books for my TBR that I want to give a try.
I’m excited for next year as well. I will however be mostly focusing on my owned TBR because it is getting out of hand lol.
Yeah, I hear you there! I decided to donate some of the books on my shelves that I haven’t read yet. Some just aren’t ever going to be read, and I’ve had them for years. My tastes have changed, ya know?
I’m gonna donate them to the local library.
I don’t think I could ever get rid of a book that I haven’t read because I am still interested in reading them all. It would probably be easier if my tastes actually changed and I could get rid of some but I read a little bit of everything and the synopsis just has to sound the littlest bit intriguing to me and I’m interested.
I hear ya. Well it’s more of an effort to get rid of books I know I’ll never read. There are some in boxes that have been there for like 3-4 years. Its seriously time to go for those ones.
Yeah I totally understand that and it makes complete sense.
You have TWO Teri Polen books in your faves, cool!
I read a whole lot of great books this year, but my four favorites are (all of them brutal, all of them literary horror):
Black Heart Boys’ Choir by Curtis Lawson
Ration by Cody Luff
Blood Sugar by Daniel Kraus
The Bedwetter by Lee Allen Howard
I’m looking forward to more great books in 2020!
Teehee, guilty! She’s amazing. I also preordered her book for next year.
Niiicccee! I think I may have looked at one of those, but I’m gonna look again just in case. Just the titles alone are interesting.
